Made it to 100!

As I began typing out today's blog post, I realized that it is my 100th one - quite exciting, considering I also just celebrated my first full year of blogging. Since I rarely ever posted about the same baked good more than once, this means that I have tried about one hundred different recipes (which is a big deal to me, considering how relatively new to baking I am, and how much I usually "play it safe" when it comes to trying new recipes/making baked goods). My 100th post would obviously not be significant without a new baked good to share with you, so please read on to learn more about my most recent baking adventure.

Although I would not say that I have been in a major baking rut (nothing like this time), it has become a little more difficult lately, trying to decide exactly what to bake. I always ask my family what they have a taste for, but even they have not been able to make a decision about what I should bake. I started to get a little nervous, since I (and everyone else) did not know what to make next; but my "potential baking rut" situation quickly ended, once my dance instructor/partner found out that I knew how to bake.

After finding out (somewhat randomly, haha) that I am an avid baker, my dance instructor/partner informed me of his favorite fruit to eat in baked goods: cherries. I too love cherries (I simply cannot get enough of them right now, since they are finally at their peak/in season here), so this all provided me with some much-needed inspiration for my next baking project: a batch of Cherry Muffins.

I actually had a taste for muffins, so this fact also helped me decide on what to bake (aside from already knowing that I would be baking with cherries); and I knew just the recipe to use as a guideline: The recipe for Strawberry Love Muffins from My Sweet Vegan.

Since I have used this recipe before, I already knew that it would be a hit again, with the cherries; but I also wanted to know what my "customers" thought about it (since their opinions matter the most): My parents said that the muffins were, "scrumptious. Really really good. The cherries were juicy and full of flavor"; my grandfather "spread some strawberry jam on the muffins - perfect!"; my dance instructor/partner (the one who really helped me decide on what to bake!) really liked the muffins as well, and even ate two during one of our practices, haha; and, of course, we must find out The Co-Worker's opinion about the muffins:

**Here is The Co-Worker's official review of these Cherry Muffins** :

If you like muffins that don’t pack too much of a punch, the cherry muffin just might fit your bill. It looks heavy and filled with fruit, but unlike the much-made-fun-of fruit cake, these muffins are light, fluffy and don’t leave you feeling like you got something stuck in your gut. They don’t taste like they’re filled with sugar (a staple of many muffins), so they make a great compliment to your morning coffee or even as a side muffin to a brunch.

So there you have it: a light and fluffy muffin that is packed with just enough flavor to satisfy one's taste buds. The cherry muffins are definitely a great treat, and the perfect baked good to be featured in my 100th blog post.

On another note, I want to wish all of my fellow Americans a very happy 4th of July holiday; and I want to wish everyone else a very happy Friday and weekend :0)

Happy 100th blog post! I had never thought of them in terms of recipes--one recipe per post is 100 recipes, of course! I'll have to remember that when I hit my own 1-year anniversary.

The muffins sound terrific, and once again, the Co-Worker's review is highly readable!

Happy 4th to you!
