Although I had another crazy, busy, fast-paced week (filled with long schooldays - this past Thursday, in particular, felt like an eternity), at least I made it through okay - and apparently you did too, since you are reading this post ;-)
Today's post features Episode 5 on VeggieGirl TV, which will highlight the following:
1.) Did someone say cake?? Why, yes I did - I will discuss the results of my latest baking project. Below is a photo of the finished product, to (hopefully) peak your interest:
Oooh la la.
2.) My incredible Blogger Secret Valentine's Day package (sent by the lovely Marianne, of the French Fries To Flaxseeds blog).
3.) Want to learn more about VeggieGirl?? Listen and watch carefully as I answer the interview questions (**which address lighthearted and some serious matters**) posed by Heather, of the Hangry Pants blog.
4.) What's coming up next?? I will preview one of the "star ingredients" of my next baking project and a future new product review.
**Important Note: Episode 5 (which is 10 minutes and 38 seconds in length) deals with both fun and serious topics, but I feel that it is a good balance.
**I ask that you at least watch the interview portion (which starts about 4 minutes into the episode, and ends around minute 9), since that is the most important/serious part of the episode.
Alright, this episode is pretty loaded, so let's get on with the show already!! :-)
I hope that you enjoyed the show; and as always, I look forward to reading your thoughts and feedback on the episode content.
And of course, I would like to wish all of you a very happy Valentine's Day with your loved ones :-)

«Oldest ‹Older 1 – 200 of 210 Newer› Newest»Have a great Val-Day!!! You are a total doll-face, thanks for your home videos!!!
That is a beeeee-yoooo-tiful cake! I've only watched about half the ep so far, but it's such a fun change to watch a blog instead of reading it! Thanks for the variety :)
hahaha, i loved this part: "if you look above ... above in the post and not above my head right now."
you need to submit veggiegirl TV to the food network already!
Yay! I'm glad your V-Day gift arrived all in one piece, and that you like it :) Hopefully you'll be able to bake something in those purdy heart pans.
I think it's cute that you thought the French on the packaging was funny. I'm so used to see it on everything, I find labels without it to be weird! That's how all us Canadian kids learned french - reading the cereal box. HA!
Oh, and I so want that bundt cake. Turtle Bundt cake? Hells yes!
PS - I totally didn't know you used to figure skate!
Thank you for opening up to us in the interview questions. I had no idea that you had this disease, and I am so sorry that others have been heckling you about your weight and appearance.
I have been following your blog for a little bit and I think it is amazing how much progress you have made in your baking passion/career. From muffins to blondies to cake! Wow!
I love watching your videos btw. You put a neat spin on them, very unique.
Hope you have a great Valentine's Day!
~Raina
I am so freakin' proud of you girl! Way to kick those negative commenters to the curb - I hope they leave you alone once and for all! They get me just as heated as you with their cruel assumptions and harsh words. It's so easy to hide behind an anonymous label - and also so cowardly and disrespectful!
On a lighter note...holy yum bundt cake and great present from Miss Marianne! I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the PURE bars. I've tried one and loved it. I'm also looking forward to seeing how you integrate PB-filled pretzels.
Happy V-day.
I've probably told you before that my mom has Crohn's. She was diagnosed and had her first surgery (of several) about 18 years ago, but we believe she'd been living with it for far longer (possibly her whole life). Hopefully, the fact that you're so active and proactive about your health will stave off invasive measures. Thank you so much for sharing something so private with the rest of us.
Maybe I'll try my 2 Pure bars this weekend. I don't care for Larabars and wasn't sure I'd like the Pure bars, but bought them anyway to give them a shot.
I wish you hadn't told me that TJ's PB-filled pretzels were vegan. I'm going to have to pretend I didn't hear that! ;)
Enjoy your bundt cake; it's beautiful! The turtle spread sounds delicious.
Great video!!
You're the best, seriously, for putting up with all those stupid comments from people.
You rock!
And that cake looks delicious :)
You are so cute and so sweet! You should know that you are a huge inspiration to me and I know to many others out there. Loved the video and all of the surprises in it :)
You're so cute VeggieGirl!
I LOVE your video posts!!! I was just wondering "who" films it.. heehee just curious ;]
I love you and your blog and I would do anything (if i could) to those MEAN anonymous commenters =/
I love those pure bars too!!! they are the best!
If I could get a chance AND honor, i would really love to try your blondies too!!!! =) or ANY of your bakings. Secretly, I've been so jealous of fellow bloggers who got "packages" from you ;)
have a wonderful Valentine's day!!!!!!!!
okay, veggie girl, i seriously, genuinely LOVE you. lol. you are so sweet and so funny, i really think you're the greatest. and it's really nice learning more about you! I imagine it's difficult, no matter how strong and secure one may be, to have people attacking you on your blog or leaving hurtful comments. i think you're fab, and although there is A LOT about me ive never shared with the blogging world, you've inspired me to be much more open to it.
happy valentine's day girly!
another great episode! you're so brave to share your illness with us. i can't imagine that being easy to do. and it really saddens me to hear that you get negative comments especially because you are always so positive and supportive of everyone else!
i laughed at the "if you look above" part when the camera moved up. :)
hi lovely!
thanks for the honesty in your vlog! I know how hard that must have been to tell us and I know that some anonymous comments can really hurt sometime. At least you have SO MANY of us who love you for you. I know you strive to be healthy every day and Crohn's must be a struggle sometimes. It was great hearing about your fashionista and journalism studies. Oh, and PURE bars...delish. I also have been adding them into my bar rotation.
ciao!
You're right. You never say anything rude on other blogs, and you don't deserve any negative comments VeggieGirl. You are such an awesome person, and by no means should you have to put up with such negative anonymous commentors!
Enough with the negativity, I love the video! I love watching your videos. And the star ingredient? Peanut Butter filled pretzels from TJs? Oh my gosh, I am coming to the United States one day to stock up my suitcase! LOL!
I admire you so much, Liz. I really enjoyed your post, and I truly appreciate your honesty with your readers. That took a lot of courage to reveal something so personal to all of us. Believe me, I completely understand the kind of anguish those anonymous commenters can put you through.
It's funny that you should mention those PB Pretzels--I just saw them tonight at TJ's, although I still have plenty of the ones that you gave me! I was thinking of incorporating them into oatmeal one of these days...odd? Yes. Delicious? Perhaps.
I have only tried the brownie flavor of the PURE bars, so I look forward to your review of the other flavors!
VeggieGirl! ::hugs:: You are a beautiful, wonderful woman :) Don't let anyone ever tell you differently. I really liked this post - you are honest and open. And I can't wait for your next baking adventure! Happy Weekend!
Awww girlie ... don't let those harsh, coward 'anonymous' comments get to you!! Don't pay attention to them ya?!! :D On a lighter note, <333 the look of that bundt cake that you created ... LICKED!! Hahaha, you def should sent Hangry Pants some of ya baked goods ... you're an awesome baker :D
happy valentines day! i love you lou <333
im so proud of you opening up on vg tv tonight! these horrible anonymous bloggers make me sick to my stomach. you have been through so much and i think you are above and beyond amazing :)
gorgeous turtle cake! and i cannot wait to see what yummy creation you will bake up next with tj's pb pretzels. yum! and its official - pure bars are the new ''it'' bar!
talk to you later! xo
p.s your readers would be so upset if vg tv was canceled!
Oh Veggie Girl.. I am sorry people are making cruel remarks to you.. like you said.. too much time on their hands or something..
I think it's great that you are so pro-active about your health...
*hugs*
My roommate freshman year had chron's disease...I've learned a lot about it and really wish more people understood what it was, it really affects the whole life of a person. Thanks for this post, I love your video posts! =]
Can't wait for the next cooking spectacular!
Have a great VDay Veggiegirl! Much love
hello beautiful! i LOVED this video; i had no clue that you had crohn's disease - thank you for being brave and telling everyone :)
guess what, doll? I BAKED BROWNIES FOR THE FIRST TIME, TODAY! except mine were topped with peanut butter and chocolate chips... which I think would've been better had I omitted the chips. strangely though - they tasted like a thick chocolate chip cookie. did i do something wrong? LOL
when are you gonna send me a batch of your famous blondies? :D i'll trade you for some brittle! (actually i'd send the brittle to you, regardless, even if you deny me your heavenly blondies)!
VeggieGirl TV makes my morning :) I just sit with my coffee and watch. I enjoyed your interview, but I am so sorry to hear about the HATERS! Delete them--from your computer and from your mind. My favorite question was the first one. I think it's cool that you have really honed-in on your interests enough to focus on journalism. I knew my major wasn't necessarily the best one for me but I stuck with it because I was afraid and now I sometimes regret it.
I've been intrigued by the Pure bars for a while now, but now that I know they have the VeggieGirl approval, I will definitely check 'em out when I can!! :)
great video girlie :) im so sorry to hear some people are leaving you rude comments, i hope they stop commenting and realize their actions are very cruel! and i think it was very courageous of you to reveal you have chrons disease, i wish you all the best with it, i cant imagine what its like but you seem to be a very strong person!
that cake looks soo yummy!
happy valentines day :)
xxxxx
thank you for being so honest on your video! one comment i want to make is that you seem so down -- i hope you get to spend the day surrounded by loved ones. remember that for every negative (ignorant!) comment you have gotten there are SO many of us who think you are awesome!!
You are too cute, I love your VeggieGirl TV, so much fun!
You are wonderful! Love these videos. The cake looks AMAZING! Why do I not own that cook book yet?
Wonderful secret cupid!
Crohn's disease runs on my mom's side of the family so I understand your struggles. I also think you're so brave and awesome for talking about it in this video!
LOVE those PB pretzels- can't wait to see what you made with them. Pure bars are on my list of to tries
Happy Valentine's day :)
VeggieGirl! Love the video!! Your honesty about Chrones is inspiring!! Who is anyone to judge you or make negative comments!? Their words are just their own insecurities. It takes a lot of strength to open up like you did and I admire you for that. You are an amazing girl, don't let anyone tell you different!
Much love to my dear friend!
Liz, that bundt cake look so good!! I enjoyed getting to know you a little more in that video. I'm sorry you had to read all those negative comments about you, especially since they were all wrong. I kinda know how you feel because I was diagnosed with Grave's disease a few years ago, which causes hyperthyroidism so I was losing weight like crazy for no reason and people were making all these comments about it. At the time, I didn't even know why so I couldn't give them a proper answer. It was so frustrating!!
Anyway, I'm glad you're doing your best to deal with Crohn's. Plus, you'll always have the support of all your blogger friends!!
yay for episode 5! i looove veggie girl tv! great gifts in the package :) you do love those laras! that cakkke sounds AMAZING!!! did you get a chance to sample any of it? i wish i could bake like you girl ;)
i'm so sorry that people have been making RUDE and INCONSIDERATE comments to you! that is SOOO IMMATURE and SO WRONG!!!! you are an AMAZING person & you should NEVER LISTEN GIRL THEY ARE WRONG!!!! people are so insecure with themselves sometimes that they like to put other people down who are POSITIVE and HAPPY-- this is THEIR PROBLEM and NOT YOURS! you have an amazing spirit, personality and blog & i'm so glad you don't listen to those idiots! and i can't wait to see what you are going to do with those PB pretzels !!!! love you girl!!!! xxoxox
First time on your site - very neat video. The cake is beautiful! Happy Valentine's day.
Your cake is gorg, but we already knew that! Thanks for an insightful and entertaining vid, Liz. I am glad you chose to address your health issues, and set some people straight. People can be so cruel and unaware, one should not have to defend themselves in such a way! You are very brave, and know that we are all behind you 100%! As you know, we struggle from some of the same symptoms, and while it was all I could do to keep weight on, for reasons beyond my control, it is never helpful to have somebody demean the process and say hurtful things. Stay strong girl, I got you! Ill kick some blogger ass! :)
Cant wait for the next installment of VGTV!
-Caroline
Great, great post! I loved your interview. I didn't know you used to be in fashion! No wonder your treats always look AND taste good... you have an eye for the aesthetically pleasing!
I am just in awe of you for addressing those horrible comments they way you did. One of my best friends has Crohn's disease, so I know a little bit what it's like on a daily basis. You're a goddess for not just completely freaking out about those insensitive posters. Good job, girl, and try not to let it get to you too much!
Can't wait to see where the PB pretzels go... Chubby Hubby used to be my favorite Ben & Jerry's ice cream flavor.
Happy Valentine's Day to you and your family!!!
Happy Valentine's Day VeggieGirl! Once again, I loved your video post. :-) I'm sorry about those anonymous commenters. Some people can be so cruel, but I'm glad that you addressed it even though they don't even deserve an explanation. But maybe they will realize that it's never good to make assumptions about someone's personal life. Anyway, I hope you have a great day. I'm excited to see what you're going to be baking with those pretzels!!!
Aww - Veggie Girl! I love you!
"To hell with they naysayers!"
You are wonderful, and so very many people know that. Anyone who leaves comments like that is obviously ignorant and has some issues of their own to deal with (and hopefully for their own health and wellness - they will deal with them).
Still on for next Friday?? Can't wait!! Happy Valentine's!
I can't imagine why anyone would leave you horrible comments like that, because you're so wonderful! My mom has Crohn's and I often see how much comments like that hurt her, so good for you for combating those comments.
Can't see what happens with those pretzels! Enjoy your Valentines day!
That chocolate turtle pecan spread sounds divine! Thanks for your fun video post!
I'm so beyond impressed and proud of you for opening up to us like you did!! The negative commenters, like you said, need to get a life and realize that the world is a lot bigger than they assume. You are a WONDERFUL blogger and such a sweet spirit... HELL YES for VEGGIEGIRL!!!
Veggie Girl! You are so great! You are hardworking, thoughtful and wonderful! Don't let people get you down :)
Happy Valentine's Day!! The cake cooks amazing!
Hey VeggieGirl! Don't let others get you down, I really respect your honesty and explanation in the "episode." Also, I loved hearing more about you!
Have a happy Valentine's Day!
The Bundt cake is WONDERFUL!!! I love the addition of the Turtle Pecan Butter.
Great Gifts from Secret Cupid!!! I love the little heart cake pans.
Aww, VeggieGirl! I'm so sorry people have been leaving harsh messages on your blog. People really don't see that what they are saying is hurtful and I'm just glad I can delete their comments and that I don't know these types of people in real life. I've been going through the same things latety.
WHY did you have to tell me those PB Pretzels were vegan?!?!
Happy Valentine's Day Liz!
I love you! =)
People suck! Your so much stronger than them by coming out with this! I'm so proud!
If you wanna send me some blondies, feel free!
I totally went to this post, saw the video was ten minutes long, then was like, "Alright, I gotta make breakfast first so I can sit and enjoy this video." Anyway, I LOVED it!! Sorry about the nasty, vile messages people have left. Thanks for addressing that with grace and modesty (hello meanie pants out there)!
Hmm who wouldn't want baked goods from the Queen herself? Haha Love ya, have a Happy Valentine's Day!!!
LOVE your video posts!!!! :D
I would love for YOU to interview me! That would be so much fun :)
Happy Valentine's Day Girl!!!! <3
awesome video, once again! im sorry that you've been getting nasty comments, you OBVIOUSLY do not deserve that, but thanks for being so honest - your genuine spirit really shined through!
i am a journalism major too, so glad that you love it as much as i do! i am into advertising/public relations, though, but we j-school people must stick together!
have fun baking your tantalizing treats, and enjoy your valentine's day! =)
GREAT post! Thank you for your honesty about having Crohn's. It is difficult for me to understand how some people have no manners. They obviously don't live by the rule "if you have nothing nice to say, don't say it"!
Great package from Marianne! That girl is so creative!
Can't wait to see what you do with the PB filled pretzels! :)
I know that must have taken courage to address all those negative comments and tell the world what you've been struggling with, so props to you for doing so!! A friend of mine has Crohn's as well, so I definitely realize how difficult it can be at times. Good for you for sharing this, and for working so hard to keep yourself healthy. You should consider addressing the disease more often in your blog, because I'm sure there are tons of Crohn's sufferers out there who would love to find your blog and get the extra support...not to mention the delicious and healthy eats!
:) Keep on keeping on girl, you rock!
First things first - is that Bundt cake beautiful or WHAT! Wow, and it sounds delicious with the nut butter. I'm glad no turtles were harmed in the making of the cake! :P
Your box of Valentine's Day Secret Blogger goodies is awesome! I love the little silicone cake pans!
Ha, I wanted to be a movie star and a vet too.
VeggieGirl the figure skater! Wow, you amaze me every day!
Good for you for talking about your Crohn's disease. I hope those Internet bullies leave you alone now.
I wonder what you will be making with the salmonella-free PB filled pretzels? :)
Happy V-Day!! <3
that bundt turned out beautifully! happy valentines day!
It was cool to hear your interview questions and I'm sorry people are so cruel. I always grew up with the statement, "if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all." Its sad that some think that because they can do something anonymously it makes it right.
And that bundt cake looks amazing and like it came out of a bakery! Well done!
Happy Valentine's day Liz - Another great video... not too mention a delicious dessert
The cake sound great! Happy valentines day!!
You are awesome VeggieGirl!! I think you are such a sweetheart, and I hope those negative comments don't get you down too much! I LOVE peanut butter filled pretzels! Whatever you're making with them is something I want! Yum! Have a great weekend!
I'm so sad because I can't view your videos :(
However, that cake looks amazing!! Happy Valentines Day!
Thanks for sharing so much about yourself! You are such a positive contributer to the blog world - always remember that!
Happy Valentine's Day!
i've been loving veggie girl tv. it's fun being able to watch vs. read about things. sorry i haven't commented though.
i also love the new-ish blog background although i know you've had it for awhile.
i used to want to be an actress too! and then i wanted to be a obstetrician. now i'd love to be able to go back to school to be a journalism major. unfortunately with the economy & such, i can't afford it. plus i'm not sure i want to work full time & go to school.
i hope you have fun baking those blondies & i cant wait to hear about what your going to make with the tj pb filled pretzel's!
have a great weekend!!
yummy bundt! and i'm excited about seeing what you do with pb-filled pretzels :)
my uncle suffers from crohn's pretty severly, so I understand how difficult it can be. sorry about the anonymous commenters, that's crappy :(
hope you have a wonderful day!!
What a very nice cake and package from Marianne.
Thanks for answering the interview questions and really for opening up about your Crohn's Disease and hurtful comments. I am glad you don't let negative people get you down and that you have supportive people all around you. We love you! I would love some blondies. Let me know when you make them next!
Heather
love veggiegirl tv! the bundt cake looks sooo good. actually, are your baking products look delicious!
and don't pay any attention to the haters.
I can't wait for the next episode-i've never had pure bars before.
have a good valentine's day!
The bundt cake sounds amazing!
Thanks for being so honest in the video! I've known people with Crohn's Disease so I have a basic understanding of how it affects people. I think it's great that you are taking care of yourself. I hate that people leave you rude comments! You've always been so sweet and supportive of everyone, and I would assume people would do the same for you. Stay strong and know that we stand by you!
Happy Valentine's Day to you too! Your cake looks awesome, my mouth was watering! :)
You are such a doll! Thank you so much for yet another wonderful episode of VGTV. I am so sorry you continue to receive hurtful messages. It is good you recognize that these people have issues of their own that lead them to say the things they do. I know it's hard to not let them affect you but you are doing a great job! Keep you chin up girl, and have a fabulous Valentines day! :) Can't wait for your product review (if these pure bars are taking the place of your beloved larabars recently, then they MUST be good!) and episode 6!
Hi Liz! I just wanted to drop by and say Happy Valentine's day real quick. I'm heading out to San Jose again, so may not be able to post. But, I will definitely read this post later. I see you have a vid up. Yay! More Veggiegirl TV!
What a great episode - especially informative for any newer readers, such as myself. Thanks for that.
You have some great treats on your hands right now!
Happy Valentine's Day!!
You are a movie star...well, a VeggieGirl TV star!
One of my former roommates had Crohn's disease, and I know that it can be tough. I'm glad you are so proactive with your health and taking care of yourself. Don't let the negative comments get you down. Just try and focus on all the positive bloggers out there who love you so much...like me! :)
PB pretzels...yum, and I've got to try those Pure bars. I've heard only good things about them.
Beautiful bundt cake VG!
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY GORGEOUS!!!
Happy Valentine's Day VeggieGirl! I'm so sorry you've had to be at the negative end of some pretty cruel comments. I hope it doesn't get you too down, because you have a lot more friends out here supporting you than you do enemies I'm sure.
That bundt cake looks delicious, as do all of your creations. I can't wait for your next one, and if you ever need taste testers, you know where to find me!
Oh Liz! What a wonderful episode of VGTV 5.0 (I just added that little touch myself). I'm so sorry people have been negative to you. I agree, TAKE A LOOK AT YOUR OWN ISSUES if you are anonymously commenting on other people and making cruel assumptions. That's very hurtful. I've read about your illness for a few months and it sounds very difficult to live with. Combined with your food allergies, you have to take a lot of precautions for your health and I really admire your determination to stay healthy and give love to others. You're the best.
Great video and the negative comments don't matter at all!!
Btw the cake looks so exquisite-positively gorgeous :)
Happy Valentine's Day!!
Cheers!
Gera
Happy V-day to you!! The cake is gorgeous!! I hope you can relax this weekend!!
Hey, IBD sufferers unite! High five! I was diagnosed with UC in 2004, and I've had a couple of serious flare ups with that, and -- luckily -- some good stretches of relative health in between. When it's been at its worst, the idea of food is just so unappealing, so I can totally sympathize with you!
Happy Valentine's Day!
Yuou rock VeggieGirl! Thanks for being so open and honest with us. I know a couple people with Crohn's disease, I am so sorry you have to suffer from it too. I looks like you do a great job of taking care of yourself by listening to your body.
Peace and Namaste
You already know I'm a fellow digestive problem sufferer and you definitely have my empathy there.
For 3 years after my twins were born I lost a terrible amount of weight, no one could explain why (including my doctor) and I had to deal with numerous comments from "well meaning" people about what they assumed was anorexia and eating disorders and even people telling me how awful I supposedly looked (yes, thank you, that was extremely helpful *roll eyes*). It's definitely not what you need when you're struggling with your health.
Good on you for being so proactive about your health. I really hope it all pays off for you and you achieve at least some of the weight gain/muscle mass you desire (although from what you said you're already on your way).
Hope you had a Happy Valentines Day and I can't WAIT to see what you do with those pretzels (YUM! More teasing about things I cannot buy here *sad face*)
Oh dear how can people do nasty comments on YOUR blog? I do hope those people have watched this epysode. You're a sweetheart, and speaking of hearts, what a cool valentine's package!
Great job Veggie Girl! You tell those insensitive people to take a hike!!
oh la la is right!
The cake looks beautiful! I really like the selection from the Futters site and will have to try the V-con recipe when I get some of that delicious looking truffle butter.
I truly hope the negative commenters get a life. Big hugs from here!
Happy Valentine's Day from a fellow gluten free blogger :) Love your video, it really mixes it up! I think it is awesome that you shared your story -- those negative people commenting need to take their uneducated opinions elsewhere! Keep up the great work and don't be discouraged -- your site rocks :)
Happy Valentine's Day, VeggieGirl!! I LOVE your videos- they are such fun!
Don't let the negative comments get you down- people need to find more constructive things to do with their time. You are AWESOME and I support you! Lots of hugs :-)
You rock! Put those mean people in their places. You are an awesome person and deserve to be treated as such. I love your veggie girl TV episodes, keep them coming. Thank you so much for your prayers for Dad. You are an inspiration to others with health difficulties! Keep up the good work!
Hi VeggieGirl!
I am a long time blog reader (and drooler over your delicious looking/ sounding baked goods)and I wanted to say thank you for your honesty and bravery on the latest episode of veggieGirl T.V. Happy Valentine's Day and good luck with your school work!
What a fun care package! That cake sounds awesome, so does that nut butter... yum yum!
By the way! You totally have my past as far as college goes :P...I started off with retail merchandising (hoping to be a designer) then switched to English :D.
I am so sorry about the crohn's disease and the horrible horrible comments :(. I have IBS and the docs wanted me to get a colonoscopy, to see if I have chron's...but I was too scared to, I'm a weenie! It's also hard for me to keep on the weight, especially when I get 'attacks'. Thanks for being so honest...I don't feel so alone, though I know crohn's is much more painful!
veggie girl -
im so impressed by how you confronted those RUDE people. Im terribly sorry about your diagnosis; im actually really glad you mentioned it because it gave me another reason to do some medical research ;) But good for you about getting proactive about your health and trying to gain weight in a healthy way.
*gasp* no larabars everyday!? haha
PURE BARS = LOVE. can't wait until the review.
Great video yet again! I am so disappointed in people who hide behind anonymous names and attack bloggers! I love all of the treats that you make! :D
VeggieGirl, I have to tell you... I took a break from the blogging world for a little while, but I have followed every single one of your video posts nonetheless! I love them!
I am so proud of you for just getting your feelings out about the anonymous commenters. People can be very inconsiderate sometimes. I think you are so strong for telling them how you feel.
Your latest baking experiment looks absolutely divine :] And I'm not much of a chocolate girl, either.
Glad you liked your surprise v-day package... I hope your St. Valentine's Day was wonderful!!
great video!!! so many goodies from Marianne, specially the cake plate and dessert plates, they're so so cute!
You went to fashion major??? wooooo..... why you quit then? not as you expected?
And sorry that you've received bad comments from annoying people, they have no right to judge people at all!!! I really hope you get over that disease soon, really, my most sincere best wishes.
And finally, have u ever considered baking some pumpkin blondies?
oh... and happy Valentine's day!
mmmmmmmmmmm! bundt cake!!!!! mmm! AND pecan???? mmmm encore :)
The cake looks delicious! Love the videos!
OH Liz,
I had no idea people were saying cruel things to you in your comments. I'm so sorry. I have a friend with Crohn's disease, and so I know I only have just a tiny fraction of an understanding of how difficult that must be. Thank goodness your digestive system is tolerant PB Puffins and Larabars!!!
I cannot wait to see what you make that features PB Pretzels...blondies perhaps???
Thank you for sharing again with us. Love the Veggie Girl TV...and the Veggie Girl!!!
Hi VeggieGirl,
I'm sitting here eating my rice & veggie breakfast and watching VEGGIEGIRL! I enjoyed episode 5 (a little late!), but glad I did! You are So cute and smart. I have to think that any negative comments you got were out of jealously (and cruelty from people that don't feel good about themselves). Keep doing what you are doing because you are so natural, loveable and fun to watch. Best wishes. XO
That turtle bundt cake sounds so good!
Thank you for sharing something so personal... it was very brave. I commend you for doing all of the things you have to do to try and maintain a healthy weight. It must be tough. And making all of your delicious looking baked goods can't hurt either :)
Sorry about those mean people :(
what an amazing cake creation (as always!)...
awww veggie girl i hope you know that we all truly are inspired by you, i can't believe that people would be so cruel and evil to you of all people... you are definitely a true inspiration not just for people with that disease but to all of us because you are a true sign of complete whole body health! please dont get discouraged and hang in there, we all love reading your posts and watching veggie tv!
I can't wait to see what you do with that trader joe's goodie, we love those!!
That bundt cake looks yummy too!
I'm sorry people have to be so mean, but I do hope that people actually google about crohn's. I feel like most people don't know much about it. We donate to the Crohn's foundation, but it isn't a well known foundation like some of the others out there.
Crohn's actually has a simlar program to Team in Training to help people raise money and run a marathon, so maybe some of your readers will find out about that!
I am so glad you did this video VG!I know you really didn't want to, but in the end, if it helps with the negative comments, than perhaps it is worth it?! And I think many readers with Crohn's will really appreciate your decision.
Im proud of you lady!
Loved the post!! Hurray for secret cupids! Living in Canada was fun- I could sort of learn French with all of the packaging.......but in the end, I definitely missed reading the back of my cereal box (instead of having one side french, one side english!).
HAVE A LOVELY WEEKEND! (At WFs!) And take care!!! :)
You rock!
Another great video, VeggieGirl! I loved the part where you were talking about the bundt cake photo "above" (in the blog) and the cameraperson moved the camera up toward the ceiling. :P
I am so sorry to hear about the negative comments some mean-spirited people leave for you. My cousin has a young son who has Crohn's Disease, and it is certainly not fun to deal with. Good for you for being proactive in taking care of yourself & your health! You (and your doctors & your family) know what is best for you, so try to ignore the rude things people say... I know that is sometimes much easier said than done, but remember that 99% of your fellow bloggers are kind & supportive! :)
as always great episode :) I look forward to the next one !
hope you had a great V-day! your vids are too cute. I wish I had the guts to do them in sweats and hair pulled back. lol. great looking cake.
Thanks for your honest post and the beautiful cake. My aunt has crohn's so it make me sad that you have had to endure negative comments as a result of the disease. You are a strong person and I firmly believe that working through it has made you an even stronger and more beautiful person. Hang in there. As I know you already know, you have tons of fans.
Wow! What a great post! The video was definitely worth all 10 minutes!
I am amazed by the way you handled speaking about such a tough situation. You spoke with grace and honesty. Thanks for being opening up about your health condition. That takes a lot of courage and is very admirable.
Keep up the great work! I hope you know how highly everyone thinks of you, VeggieGirl!
I can't wait to see what you do with the PB pretzels! Yummmy!
Kaneil, balanceisbest
Thanks for being such an amazing support!!
I'm so jealous that I can't get that amazing butter OR those Trader Joe's pretzels over here! And the cake does look fabulous. I think your attitude about the anonymous commenters is a great one--just don't let it get to you, as you're doing an amazing job with your diet, your baking, Veggie Girl TV--everything! :)
You are too cute! I love veggiegirl TV. I've been following your blog for a long time and just never commented before. You've inspired me to bake my own vegan treats! I look forward to your posts every week. Keep up the great work!
I love all your VGTV episodes!!!! I can't wait to see what you make with the pb filled pretzels! yum!
haha, What? There's no bundt cake hanging over your head?
Love the video posts! And the chocolate pecan butter! I can practically smell it through the computer!
I've only ever seen you leave the sweetest comments in the world on other blogs... You totally don't deserve negativity! Thanks for sharing a little more about yourself with the interview questions! Blondies are my favorite dessert to make too -- I actually made your fig almond blondie recipe on Thursday to share with the nutrition club at my school and they loved them! (And I sprinkled some bittersweet chocolate chunks on the top layer before I baked them. Sooo good!) Happy Valentine's Day. I was also highly amused by the Canadian Larabars. :)
What a lovely cake, I <3 the turtle nutbutter addition! Great video, veggie girl TV is sure to be a huge hit! I tried my first
PURE bar he other day... since they're a bit greater in nutritional value, I think they beat Larabars for me! :0 Haha, I wanted to be a celebrity when I was little too, then a vet because I love animals and now I really like writing... great minds think alike! Awww sweetie, I'm sorry about the nasty comments, I'm sure creeps out there think about them for every one, it's good to learn to ignore them because you have WAY more people who love you and "bloggie friends" than people wh don't, so just keep remembering that! I LOVE LOVE LOVE how you have such good intentions for helping animals, that's one of my motivations too! Thanks for being so honest, I bet nasty people who view this video will learn to realise that if they don't have anything good to say, then don't say anything at all!
Wishing you a great weekend hon! :D
wait a minute! chocolate turtle spread? oh yeah!
you got a really good care-package. I love TJ pb pretzels! Thank god they aren't recalled, yet, I hope.
I think you know this already, what I'm about to type, but I had to share it with you in case it might help.
Jordan Rubin, the owner and founder of Garden of Life products had what you have and because of this he started his own products to help his digestive system. It really is an amazing story of what he did, and I love his products. I use the greens powder almost everyday. His web is gardenoflifeusa.com.
I loved your video...don't ever let those negative people get you down, because you totally rock little one. :-)
your videos are awesome! i like your kitchen, hehe, it looks so clean and organized!
Aww I loved this video! It was very helpful in getting to know you even better. You are such an emotionally strong woman! I hope no one continues to write mean things. As mentioned before 99.9% of us LOVE YOU! :)
<3 jess :)
xxx
Thank you for opening up and letting us know a little more about you. I know how hard and hurtful those negative anonymous posters are and it makes me so angry that you have to deal with them because you are the most thoughtful, supportive, encouraging person I know. Thank you for all you do and how much you bring to the blogging community! You definitely help put a smile on my face every day!
It's always so interesting to think back to what we wanted to be when we were little, and even though your plans have changed it looks like your aspiration to be a movie star has happened with the ever-successful veggiegirl tv!
have a beautiful day : )
did you mean to say pique instead of peak? Otherwise, the bundt cake looks delicious!
Thanks for sharing Veggiegirl!
And that cake looks delish.
My dear dear dearest VG. I love your post and your honesty and passion. I am also proud of you from refraining from more *colorful* language ;D Seriously, the anonymous commenters are cowards, and obviously have their own emotional issues to deal with. You don't deserve any of that nonsense, and you are so right that you have NOTHING to say to anyone except loving, kind words! What the F!? I'm excited to try my choc brownie Pure bar i just bought :D Love to you as usual, can't wait for episode..6??! yayyaa!
Hi there,
I've always read your blog and never commented. I think your blog is uplifting and informative and I don't understand the haters! Keep smiling and spreading the blog love like you do!
French larabars? That makes them fancy larabars! :)
Another great installment of VeggieGirl TV. the Q&A is great, I feel like I am getting to know all of my fellow bloggers on a new level :)
Oh my Little VeggieGirl! I'm so proud of you :) Had that been me addressing the haters I probably wouldn't have been as ladylike as you!
I LOVE those PB pretzels - they never make it on the blog because it's a grab and go food but they're SO GOOD! Can't wait to see what you make!! Hope you enjoyed your weekend - here we go again ;)
You're so adorable! Love you!
Wow! Thank you so much for mentioning the Pure Bars! I love this post. Don't let negative people get you down. You have done so many amazing things already. We are all given gifts and challenges to deal with in our lives and it shows true character how we choose to use our gifts and deal with our challenges. I am proud of you and all you have accomplished. Have a great week!!
Super cute video!!
I have veganomicon.....I could make that cake! I love your blog...!
VG! Baby! One of my favorite episodes yet. I totally laughed when the camera panned up above your head and you clarified that we were to look above in the post, instead. too funny!
i support you 100% and cannot believe people would have the nerve to annonymously comment such hurtful, untrue and cruel things. But at the same time, I am not surprised because I also get negative comments and its quite ridiculous. You are a strong person and I know you have the love and support of so many more than some lame commenter.
Great bundt cake! It looks picture perfect. I bet it tastes even better! Can't wait to see your next recipe, prod review, and episode. Love you!!!
you are amazing! those were very thoughtful interview answers. keep up the good work. i can't wait for the next veggie girl video. you would be great in broadcast journalism!
p.s. i'm checking out the pure bar website right now!! they look delicious :)
Thanks for sharing with us - both your delicious recipes and yourself!
Great episode! Thanks for being so honest! I totally understand where you are coming from with the digestive issues and it upsets me that people have left you hurtful comments. You don't deserve that!
I love the Pure Bars!
Good for you! This probably sounds kinda cheesy, but you are such a positive role model. That took a lot of guts, and and I am so proud of you!!
On a lighter note...PB pretzels? Can't wait for that recipe!
Beautiful cake veggie girl! I am in awe of your strength, compassion, and continuation of moving forward. YOU ARE AN AMAZING PERSON!
loving veggiegirl tv!! the cake looks delicious! thanks for sharing everything with us, i know people with krohn's and it is often not taken seriously enough, i think. hang in there!
Go you for telling those commenters how big of a bunch of idiots they are! Seriously I don't understand why people feel it's necessary to make negative statements when they have NO CLUE what they are talking about. I think its great you shared that with all of us, and it sounds like you are making awesome decisions regarding your health to deal with the disease. You know we're all behind you :)
I need to buy some hazelnut butter!!! Oh and that choc. turtle stuff you got...sounds so amazing.
ugh you are SO right!!! I have yet to find a day when you are seriously not one of the first comments! How do you do it!? PS-thank you for correcting my spelling of FONDUE*! I call myself a journalism major:PHave a wonderful monday my dear!
HAPPY MONDAY to you, too my wonderful blogging friend!! : )
I haven't had time to watch your video yet, but I'm excited to!! ;)
What a beautiful cake!!!
I can't imagine taking the time to comment on someone's blog, only to be mean about it. Those people need to get a life. I, for one, am a huge fan of yours and think what you do is fabulous. So screw them and keep it up! xoxo
That cake looks fabulous! Happy (belated now) Valentine's Day!
cake looks fabulous!!! i saw on Amy's blog that you've converted to pure bars?!?! just wondering what your FAVORITE flavors are :) happy monday!

This was an amazing episode!! You addressed the negative comments beautifully. I am so sorry that people are so cruel to you. That is truly terrible and upsetting to hear. But you handled it well and are a strong and beautiful girl!!
I had NO idea you were fashion merchandising major! I wanted to do that for a long time...
Your cake looks beautiful, as always. I bet it tastes marvelous!
I can't wait to see what you throw together with these pb filled pretzels!! Yum! And, the review of the Pure bars excites me too :)
love.
As always I enjoyed your video post! And the bundt cake looks terrific!
Veggiegirl, you show such bravery, strength & maturity despite the nastiness of the comments you have received. Rise above them my dear, you are sooooo much better & we love you! I also reckon that you will make a brill journalist :-) x
love getting to know more about you! I can't believe how negative and just plain stupid and hurtful people can be! I hope they stop sending you nastiness because you certainly do not deserve that - no one does!
You are truly an inspiration and so incredibly strong to share a part of you with us! Thank you!
I listened to your Veggie Girl video earlier (which was great by the way) and I had to revisit your site because it bugs the heak out of me that there are people who would leave you negative, hurtful comments. It seems you are a very strong young woman and realize that people who do such things have more problems than the rest of us. You hang in there and keep on posting those yummy things you bake up. Great blog, super person...keep working hard toward your goals. :)
love the cake!!! i have to use my parents computer to watch the movie.. my speakers dont work on the laptop! i cant wait!
I love how you compared yoga to dance. I've never thought about it before, but it's a beautiful comparison.
It was really strong of you to speak out against the negative comments on your blog. An old friend of mine has Crohn's and it seemed like a battle every day for him.
I can't wait to see what you so with the pretzels! I've been wanting to bake with pretzels for a while now and I've been taking my time in the contemplation process :)
You are a great girl. And remember you can't please all of the people all of the time!
Keep being yourself and don't let the negative comments get you down.
P.s. the cake looks great!
Wow, great photo. I love the blue background, but I love the cake even better!
omg i love your videos!!! my favorite part - when u said to "look above" then the camera moved up and u meant to look up on the page at the bundt cake ;) hehe
man I adore your blog.
entirely.
Mmm... blondies.
Although I don't know what negative things people have been saying, all I can say is that you should not even bother reading them all the way through and just click delete straight away. Please don't let them affect how you blog! Look at how many people love you, your blog, and your baking and smile because these are the things worth thinking about :)
As Dr. Seuss said, “Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.”
And that is indeed one BEAUTIFUL cake. Yom yom yom!
Thanks for you nice comment : )
I still haven't watched your video and I'm still looking forward to it! (I'd do it right now but I'm at work, and I'm not allowed!)
Have a great Tuesday!!
Great videos and the bundt cake looks wonderful. :-)
Hello fellow Crohnny! :) I am so glad you don't let anyone bring you down (I didn't even see the comments), you rock and you shouldn't have to explain yourself (but I can understand wanting to). I actually have to watch what I eat lately (the Humira is working so well, I've actually gained 5 pounds!!!). So I need to stop overeating, otherwise I might as well be on prednisone! Ha ha! Great video, I am enjoying veggiegirl TV!
Beautiful cake and such a cute video!!!
Sues
Don't let those negative comments let you down, VeggieGirl!
Beautiful cake, by the way.
hey hey veggiegirl,
as usual i am incredibly late in commenting, but i didn't want that to stop me from saying that i adore your video posts!
as for the negative comments--i honestly can't believe people would have the nerve to be so negative on one of the loveliest, most positive blogs out there! i'm sorry you have to deal with such people, but it's great to hear that you've put some more muscle on!
i can't wait to read your purebar review, since i've been thinking about ordering some. if they've been replacing your larabars, they must be good, right?
have a lovely tuesday!
i want cake!!!!!
Hey Girly,
I was finally able to watch your video and just wanted to thank you for being honest and taking on such negativity with strength and courage. I really appreciate all of the sunshine (and baked goods) you bring to the foodie community.
Hope you're having a great week!
You are always keeping so busy! When do you sleep? :-)
sometimes people suck. you're amazing though, so im sorry you've been on the receiving end of such crappy comments. i think it's just others projecting their own insecurities anyways...so HOORAY for another great episode of VGTV, and hope you relaxed over the weekend, and this week isnt too stressful as you head back to the school routine. i feel like the opposite since i worked sat, sun and mon, and now FINALLY have a chance to sleep a bit. anyways, as usual, a lovely lovely post.
xxx

veggie girl i absolutely love your video posts! i'm very sorry to hear about your Crohn's and also sorry to hear people have been being nasty. I know its hard, but try to ignore them, they have no reason to say those awful things. we all LOVE you and everything abuot you!!! keep your head up, we're all here supporting you. can't wait to see what you make with those pb pretzels, ive been eyeing them up at TJs lately :)
Once again I am loving your video posts. Yummmm Blondies!
You tell those ridiculous commenters off. Some people are just downright pathetic, but you are downright TERRIFIC so don't forget it!
That cake looks really perfect! And I like the blue background a lot.
first off - the bundt cake sounds incredible!! you are so creative.
Dont worry about negative comments - we've all got your back! stay strong!
and sorry I am so late on my comment...better late than never!
I always like VeggieGirl TV, I'm sorry about the negative comments. That cake looks great!
You are so cute! Don't worry yourself about negative people. I lurve the looks of your cake. YUM!
Thanks for the comment, VeggieGirl! If you have any recipes for a gluten-free and/or vegan version, please share! :-)
The cake looks great! :) I'm sorry those people have been so mean... :) I love you! hope you had a great valentine's day!
thank you so much for being so honest in this video girl!! what kind of a person would actually leave comments like that?? ughghgh, that just makes me sick. don't let it affect you, you are such a strong and beautiful girl, inside and out. I love VeggieGirl tv!! :-) hope your v-day was a good one!!
PS-- no more larabars every day?? BLASPHEMY!!!
Hey VG,
Ignore the jerks out there leaving bad comments. They are idiots and you are so much better than them. With respect to the Chrons disease, I'm sorry to hear that. My dad has been suffering with it since shortly after I was born. We almost lost him at the beginning (he had the big surgery), but he is still here today 30 years later and has learned to live with it pretty well... I wish you all the best with it. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help.
Juliet
Ah! Love it! You're as sweet as the goodies you bake. :-)
Thank you so much for your candor. I,too, have had so many cruel comments made to me, and behind my back due to my weight, diet, etc.... I wish people would suspend judgment until they get to know the person!
oh girlie - it's hard to understand that people have enough time and energy on their hands to leave inappropriate comments about you when they know nothing about you. i think you are superwoman :D
Liz, the sound on my computer is finally working so i could listen to your video!!! i always imagined that you would have a high-pitched voice like i do, so i was surprised at how low it is. i'm not saying that's bad though- everyone says i sound like minnie mouse.
the chocolate spread looks awesome!!! that would be good poured over some bananas.
Hi Veggiegirl,
I watched your video yesterday and didn't know if you would be interested, but my husband's friend, Jim has written a book (or 2) about his life with Crohn's.

Just thought I'd pass it along.
Take care.
Hi Liz, I meant to send you an email asking about this, but somehow I couldn't find your email anywhere. can u send me an email? I have a question about blondies!
What a lovely (and undoubtedly delicious) bundt!
Honey, I am really enjoying your video blogging. It's personal, it's real and sincere. Thank you for sharing your life with us. You are the best.
I know that it is easier said than done but ignore the anonymous fools, they are not man or woman enough to even put their name on the blog to represent their narrow, judgmental, ignorant views.
Haha! lovely cake. You never cease to amaze me with everything you manage to fit into one week!
wonderful episode of VGTV as usual :D
what flavor pure bars can i send you???
you know that there's an insane amount of people in the blog world that ADORE YOU, including yours truly. don't let those haters get you down!
xoxo
OOh what a lovely lovely cake. I do so love a good bundt cake. You really have a busy week.
That cake looks awesome! One of the things my family members consistently request on their birthdays is my Mom's chocolate bundt cake. Gotta love it. :-)
Thank you for all your supportive comments lately!!
college is to cake as happiness is to smiling.
thanks for making me smile :-) ... now can i get some cake
I don't think I've commented before but I really enjoy reading your blog. I was just curious about something but only if you have the time to answer! How did you figure out what foods to avoid/what foods you're allergic to? I'm guessing that you've found that most of the foods you eat don't set off your Crohn's symptoms. I'm wondering because I have an IBD (but not Crohn's) and am having a hard time figuring out the whole food elimination process. Hang in there with school...we're getting so close to spring break! :) ~Rachel
Here's my email address...I couldn't figure out how to leave it in the "identity" section:
rmehlhaff@wisc.edu.
Sorry this comment is so long!
Hey! I just noticed while Commenting on heathers blog that we had the same fav book as a child...If you give a Mouse a cookie!!!
Is VeggieGirl going to be the next big Food Network show? You are so cute! And that cake is amazing.
Hey Veggiegirl-nice looking caek. You may enjoy my agave nectar cake at my blog:

LOVE VGTV!!! "No turtles were harmed in the making of this bundt cake"! love it! :) Keep up the great work!
That bundt cake is gorgeous! And as always, I love watching you videos. You're a natural.
Pretty bundt!
As always I very much enjoyed your video! They are so much fun to watch and they add such a personal touch to the blog because it adds a voice to the face :)
thank you so much for sharing everything with us. you are such a sweet, caring and loving person. you take the time out of your insanely busy schedule to comment on our blogs everyday (i've always wondered how you do it!!) and it really means a lot to me.
i cannot wait to see what you bake with the pb filled pretzels! i just tried them for the first time a few days ago and wow! they are good!
can't wait for episode 6!
to all the people making those judgments and leaving those comments - that is NOT okay. sorry VG, you do not need to deal with that, and i hope you realize that you are stronger than that! i know how it feels to be judged; rise above it love! you are the bigger person! i have a friend with chron's - it's hard. you are brave for opening up. my thoughts are with you! and enjoy that bundt cake! if it's not already gone ;)
Beautiful cake and great video, VeggieGirl! Question: are those by any chance gluten free pb pretzels?
ummmm...you're the best (fyi)
thats all
Hey Liz,
My brother was just diagnosed with Crohn's disease. Up until now it had caused a lot of problems at work because of his lack of energy and stomach issues. He was glad to have a name for what was wrong. I'm sorry people have been leaving you mean comments about it, that is such a shame. On a lighter note, I can't wait to get the recipe for that bundt cake! I'll have to get the book soon:) Thank you for continuing doing what you do so well by sharing your blog with us:)
Probably in Ohio, but there's one in KC, Missouri, too : ) I don't know how many there are but there must be more than one.
thanks for the sweet comment about my header :) youre a doll! well, technically larabars are completely crap free, but one of the main reasons i wanted to do this cfw was because I realllly depended on bars all the time and i wanted to use this week to see if i could come up with other sources of snacks instead of simply reaching for the bar u know? as soon as this week is over though, ill be all over some larabars! love them and im a huge fan of pure bars too, they are amazinggg
Don't let the bastards get you down... you are beautiful! Thanks for sharing your honesty with us... and of course all your yummy food!
Hi Liz,
My name is Michelle (I've just recently started my own blog, hope you'll check it out!) and I've checked our your blog a few times and I want to applaud you for just being you! You DO have a great support system through fellow positive bloggers and you always seem so kind and generous to ALL of the bloggers and commenters out there, making sure to comment back to pretty much everyone. I've noticed this only just reading your blog a few times, so why people would go out of there way (especially anonymously...c'mon) to make you feel bad is ridiculous. You seem like a wonderful person, so don't let those ignorant people get to you! You'll definitely see me around here more often!!
Have a great weekend Liz!
Michelle
Happy Valentine's Day! I just want to say BRAVO to you girl for being so brave to share such personal information. It's great to hear that you're doing so well with the help of your friends and family and you're so right- anyone who spends their time leaving you negative comments needs to really take a look at themselves.
That cake sounds delicious! I have been hesitant making that cake since I wasn't sure what blend of GF flours would work the best for a bundt cake, so I'm glad to see that it turned out well for you! Did you replace all of the flour with Bob's Red Mill GF All-Purpose Mix, or did you use any other flours?
sweetie! I love YOU and I love your baking and your blog! I think people who have the nerve to leave anonymous mean comments are so incredible heartless! I have gotten a couple myself, and it really hurts me too. I have an autoimmune disease as well (lupus) - and I know how you feel sometimes with the lack of appetite, it really does seem like an uphill battle sometimes, but you have so many people that think you are amazing! I hope you don't let them get to you - they obviously can't think before they comment
