VeggieGirl Gone Wild? : Part Three

Our first night in Las Vegas was absolutely amazing - how could it get any better?

It was time for us to find out, on Day 2 of our trip.

Please read on for Part Three of the VeggieGirl Gone Wild? blog post series:

**Saturday, May 16th: Morning and Afternoon**

I started my day with some raw P.B.J. Tasty Toast from the Go Raw Café. An all-raw restaurant right in Vegas that delivers?? Dream come true.

This Tasty Toast was comprised of raw almond butter & jam on sweet bread (which can be purchased from the restaurant's online store). Excellent morning fuel.

**Please excuse the out-of-focus photo!! I was hungry and did not thoroughly check my camera's settings ahead of time, haha**

My sister-in-law ordered the #18 Stra-bana Smoothie for delivery, which contained strawberries, bananas, and dates. Perfectly sweet.

My trainer back home said that I "better keep up with training while on vacation - no breaks." Tough love!! So...

... here I am warming up with the trainer at the gym (in the Palazzo, where we stayed).

About to "officially" begin our training session...

Some of you have asked about my training progress, so here is a quick glimpse at that, haha.

Awkward expression on my face, but it still shows some more of my training progress ;-)

After my training session and freshening up a bit, I was more than ready to refuel. Luckily I had pre-ordered lunch from the Go Raw Café that morning.

**Major perk of raw cuisine = you do not have to worry about the food getting cold ;-)

I ordered the Perfect Pasta, which was made up of zucchini "pasta" primavera with a blend of marinara, pesto, olive oil, sun dried tomatoes, & garlic. It was also served with Garlic Bread "Stix," (which can be purchased from their online store). An epic dish!!

**Again, I apologize for the out-of-focus photos**

After training in the morning and an afternoon filled with shopping and casino-hopping (played some slots and table games like Blackjack and Roulette), it was almost time to get ready for our big night (and eventually morning) out.

But there was one more thing that took place on Saturday afternoon...

I guess that you will just have to wait until my next post to find out more about that ;-)

**Please stay tuned for Part Four of the VeggieGirl Gone Wild? blog post series!!**

hey VG.

i admire your dedication to training...but i dont see why you couldnt have taken a break while on holiday? ..its seems a bit compulsive and arent you suppose to take breaks between exercise to let your muscles rest etc... i dont know just a thought.

vg, i hate to criticize but these pictures are the gym (and after)? are they really necessary? i think it sends the wrong message to readers...especially when a lot of your commenters/readers have eating disorders. not being able to relax for 3 days on vacation is very obsessive - especially being your size. also, the fact that you felt the need to post pictures in your workout attire is a bit too much. i hope you will consider my opinions, coming from someone who does not have any eating issues whatsoever. take care. and i look forward to seeing the rest of your wild vacation in vegas!

ttfn300 said...

As for ya guns ... holy moly .... (hides own arms in shame) looks like ya training sessions really did pay off! haha!!

VG, please STOP the tease, just posts everything in ONE LONG post. please? I'm sure everyone wouldn't mind that. Or am I the impatient one, heh!

Thinspired said...

Hi VG,
I love that you made Vegas work for YOU...I would never have thought that one could find raw, vegan eats there (home of the ginormous buffets?!), but somehow you did it and that is awesome! It really shows that there are no excuses not to make the best healthy choices for ourselvs, no matter where we are!
Love the training pics...I haven't seen any "before" pics, but your arms look awesome!
I am so loving this Vegas recap!

Gina said...

Oh man, that raw lunch looks awesome!!

Way to keep up with your training :)

Katrina said...

Look at you and your muscles! Love it! I've never been to Vegas, but if I do go, I am definitely hitting up that raw delivery restaurant! Talk about brilliant. Oh... and you got another shout-out on the blog. You are just so quote-able!

You are killin' me with these teasers. Girfriend, you know how to keep readers coming back. Holla to journalism school!

By the way, I loved the dress in the last post so much that I made sure to show MamaJ when I came home this weekend!

Can't wait to see the rest. Love ya!

How fun!

I've been following your kitchen adventures for a while, but never left any feedback. You're recipes are fun and inspire my own baking experiments. And in response to your videos regarding rude commenters, kudos to your confidence and authority!

For lack of a more mature adjective, you are awesome. :)

Wow it sure looks like you have been working hard! Good for you! Don't you just love it when the hotel you're staying at has a nice gym? I may be a freak for this, but it makes me sooo happy when I go on vacation and get to experience a new, different gym to sweat in!
That raw "pasta" looks delicious! Ahh!
Can't wait for you next post :)

seesaraheat said...

How awesome that you could order something healthy and have it delivered! That is the best. Those are some sweet "guns" you have, keep up the good work. I'm still pretty new as far as reading your blog, so you may have mentioned this before, but what type of training do you do? Any specific moves you think work better than others?

Maris said...

You are so good, keeping up with the gym on vacation! I usually gain 5 lbs per trip!

Adam said...

Hey, put the guns away before some kid gets hurt :)

I'm totally down with anything that has PB and J, so that looks great. Nothing like a nice protein rich meal after a workout, right?

Keep it up Liz and you'll be able to lift your dance partner if you want :)

Phoebe said...

Hey, I'm Phoebe and I've basically been a lurker on here thus far.
But I just have to say, I am so impressed with how muscular you are! It kind of gives my hope - after I decided to transition from vegetarianism to veganism (still a work in progress I feel I must add) I focused so much more on cardio because I felt like strength was a lost cause. But to see that you can do this - with out even eating soy to boot - is truly inspirational, not to be too sappy.
I'm also in complete awe of how truly healthy your relationship with food seems to be.
